Risk / Reward & Position Size Calculator
Review of vendor proposal BBR-FP-CALC-001 (BBR Tek) and integration plan for fewpips.com
For: @dusanjotic · @VeljkoVukovic · ~Dj
Subject brand: fewpips · Vendor: BBR Tek — Software Development
Proposal dated 11 Sep 2026, valid until 11 Oct 2026 · Status on CRM: STANDBY (Nick, #1387)
Two things to read first.
1. Code not attached to this task. Only the scope PDF (BBR-FP-CALC-001) came through. The actual source
package was shared separately and is not available to review line-by-line here. This review is therefore of the
proposal/spec and what it claims about the code — a true code-level audit needs the source package handed over.
2. Nick put this on standby (#1387, 11 Sep): "standby on this, as we shouldn't be getting charged… it is currently on the CRM if you want to have a look."
So this is advisory only — no vendor contacted, no payment, no engagement. The buy/no-buy decision is Djordje's.
1 · What is being offered
A finished, client-side Risk/Reward & Position-Size calculator delivered as source code under a perpetual
licence for a one-time fee. BBR Tek states the app is already built, tested and deployed — this is a product sale, not
a development engagement. Fewpips would own and self-host it; no recurring charge is required to run it.
- Two modes: solve for lot size (from risk %) or solve for risk % (from lot size).
- 61 instruments: 29 forex · 3 metals · 13 spot indices · 3 energy · 5 crypto · 8 continuous futures.
- Bilingual EN/ES, responsive, keyboard/focus/reduced-motion accessible, permanent "not financial advice" disclaimer.
- Self-contained single file — no build, no package manager, no external dependency; runs from local storage. Calculations run in the browser; no trader input leaves the page.
- Exchange-rate service — daily refresh, independent secondary feed, embedded fallback (matters for 34/61 instruments).
- Acceptance harness — 5 verified cases (V1–V5) re-runnable on demand to re-verify after any edit.
- Integration: iframe + auto-height snippet on fewpips.com, optional calc.fewpips.com subdomain.

2 · Feedback — strengths
GOOD Buy-to-own, no lock-in. $500 one-time for perpetual source. We hold the code and can edit/host freely — the $100/mo facility is explicitly optional.
GOOD Self-contained, zero-dependency. Single file, no build/npm — trivial to host on Cloudflare and very low ongoing maintenance / supply-chain risk.
GOOD Client-side only. No trader input transmitted — clean for privacy and keeps us out of handling trading data.
GOOD Conservative rounding. Lots round down to 0.01 so a trader is never over-risked; the panel shows actual vs requested risk (e.g. 2.00%→1.92% on gold). Right behaviour for a prop firm.
GOOD Self-verifiable. The 5-case harness lets our team re-confirm correctness after any edit — reduces dependence on the vendor for maintenance.
GOOD Fits our catalog. Instruments map to the Fewpips symbol list; the 8 continuous futures (GER40-F, JPN225-F, NAS100-F, UK100-F, US30-F, US500-F, EUSTX50-F, SWI20-F) auto-roll — no maintenance.
GOOD FX drift handled. Rates feed 34/61 instruments; the proposal documents real 20-day drift (USD/JPY −2.85%) to justify the daily rate service. Good engineering judgement.
GOOD Compliance-aware. Permanent on-screen "indicative / not financial advice" notice + EN/ES toggle fits our audience and compliance posture.
3 · Feedback — watch-outs & questions to resolve before buying
BLOCKER FOR CODE REVIEW We don't have the source yet.
Everything above is from the spec. Before accepting delivery we must actually receive and open the source + integration
guide and run the harness ourselves. Ask BBR to send the package (or a read-only preview URL with the harness parameter)
so we can verify the 5 cases and read the code before any payment.
COST The recurring $100/mo is avoidable — keep it that way.
This aligns with Nick's "shouldn't be getting charged." The only thing that ever needs manual upkeep is the
instrument catalog (and only if we add dated futures like COFFEEU6 / USOILV6, which are
not included). Recommendation: do catalog edits in-house via guide §06 — we hold the source — and never subscribe to the monthly facility.
Confirm with Djordje/Veljko that Fewpips does not need dated futures; if it does, that is a standing manual job (monthly) and the only real ongoing cost consideration.
CONFIRM Which rate API? The "daily refresh + secondary feed + fallback" is claimed to cost nothing. Confirm the actual provider(s), free-tier limits and ToS — that's the only piece with a possible hidden third-party cost or rate-limit.
CONFIRM Rate service runtime. Is it a static client fetch, or a server/cron component? This decides whether we need a Cloudflare Worker + Cron or pure Pages. Ask for the deployment config.
CONFIRM Branding assets. "Branded to Fewpips" — confirm it uses correct lower-case fewpips and our colours/logo, no placeholder or vendor branding visible to users.
CONFIRM Compliance wording. Veljko/legal to approve the disclaimer copy and the EN/ES strings before it goes near prod.
TECH Analytics / GA4. Our deploy-gate requires GA4 on every fewpips.com route. The iframe app on a subdomain is a separate origin — decide whether the host page's GA4 is enough or we add tracking inside the app.
TECH Fonts. App pulls 2 webfonts from a public service, falls back to system fonts if blocked. Minor; optionally self-host the fonts for consistency.
4 · Acceptance criteria (how we verify it's correct)
The proposal pins 5 output cases. After the source is handed over, run the integrated harness and confirm each reproduces exactly — do this before payment and after any edit we make.
| Case | Instrument | Lot | Actual risk | R:R |
| V1 | EURUSD (USD-quoted FX) | 0.50 | $100.00 · 1.000% | 2.00 |
| V2 | GBPJPY (cross, rounding shortfall) | 0.74 | $186.52 · 0.746% | 2.00 |
| V3 | XAUUSD (metal, shortfall shown) | 0.12 | $96.00 · 1.920% | 2.00 |
| V4 | GER30 (EUR-quoted index, conversion) | 3.41 | $199.47 · 0.997% | 2.50 |
| V5 | BTCUSD (crypto, editable contract size) | 0.15 | $225.00 · 1.500% | 2.00 |
V2 and V4 involve FX conversion, so their USD figures drift a few cents as rates move — that's expected and signals the rate service is live, not a defect.
5 · Integration plan for fewpips.com
Recommended: embed via iframe from an isolated subdomain — it keeps the vendor's single-file app
completely separate from our Next.js site, avoids the hydration/chunk traps on the main repo, and makes future updates a
one-file swap.
- Get the package. Receive source + integration guide + deployment config from BBR Tek (currently only the scope exists). Read the code; confirm branding, rate provider and runtime.
- Stand up calc.fewpips.com. Deploy the app on Cloudflare Pages (static single file). If the rate service needs server-side daily refresh, add a Cloudflare Worker + Cron trigger per the vendor's deployment config; otherwise it's pure static.
- Run the harness. Open with the verification parameter and confirm V1–V5 reproduce exactly. This is our acceptance gate before anything goes live.
- Add the host route (PR flow). On Fewpipss/fewipips, branch aim/risk-calculator, add a route (e.g.
/tools/risk-calculator) with the GA4 snippet (deploy-gate requirement) and the vendor's iframe + auto-height snippet pointing at the subdomain.
- Wire navigation. Add internal links (nav/footer/relevant tool pages) so the page isn't orphaned; keep brand copy lower-case fewpips.
- Preview + review. PR triggers the Cloudflare preview on <branch>.fewpips.pages.dev; deploy-gate must be GREEN. Veljko/legal sign off on disclaimer + EN/ES copy.
- Merge to prod. Djordje merges the PR. No
wrangler straight to the main domain.
Effort for us once the code is in hand: small. It's one static app + one iframe route + one PR. No ongoing cost if we
self-host the catalog edits and confirm the rate feed is free-tier. The real decisions are commercial (pay the $500?) and
compliance (approve the disclaimer) — both human calls, which is why this stays on standby until Djordje/Veljko decide.
6 · Bottom line / recommendation
Technically this is a good, low-risk buy for a one-time $500: we own the source, it's dependency-free, conservative
on risk, self-verifiable, and matches our instrument list. Integration is light and fits our standard PR flow.
Before committing: (1) get and read the actual source + run the harness; (2) confirm the rate provider is free
and its runtime; (3) decide dated-futures need (drives whether any manual upkeep ever applies); (4) keep the
$100/mo facility off and do catalog edits in-house. Hold as-is until Djordje gives the commercial go-ahead — nothing
here incurs a charge.
